An updated and revised KS3 Framework guidelines was presented to all schools in June 2009. The work resulted from the hard work of a small group of teachers from across the Diocese. A great debt of thanks are due to those teachers and to a wider group who contributed to the work on an ad hoc basis. It is hoped that this Framework will now inform the organisation of the KS3 Curriculum in schools from 2009-2010. It is now intended to produce work to complement the Key Stage 3 Framework in three specific areas concerning Attainment
1. To produce assessment tasks linked to elements in the Framework
2. To produce ‘generic’ Descriptors for Levels 4, 5, 6 & 7 that could be applicable to any task
3. To provide exemplar pupil materials exhibiting appropriate outcomes for the assessment tasks produced
It is hoped that this next stage will be completed by June 2010.
